You'll also understand how it all works - how these changes affect your physical appearance and the image your project to the world.

You're here to unleash your greatest beauty potential.. for less time and money! You don't need a fat wallet, model body or the flashiest clothes to look good or even stylish. We'll work with what you've got!
So let's put the current fashion trends to the side for a moment and start with the very basic fashion tips - the 5 key elements of looking your best:

  • Complement your body figure
  • Wear the right colors
  • Defining your personal style
  • Build a solid wardrobe foundation
  • Putting together outfits
With these pointers in mind - you'll know what type of clothes and outfits to invest in and what to avoid. Keep in mind that each pointer has a set of mini-steps! You also need a notebook (preferably unlined) to jot down any ideas that pop into your mind, as well as tips that you want to keep as reference.

The Basics Fashion Tips

1.  Your Body Figure:
By knowing the shape, scale and proportions of your body, you'll be able to select the best clothes and accessories that create a balanced silhouette that help disguise the parts you're self-conscious about to you pave the way for your confidence. This gives you the curves on all the right places, and leaves plenty of room to play up your best assets.

Determine your body figure
  •   How dressing your body shape works
  •   Understand why body proportions are important
  •   Improve self confidence
  •   Assess your horizontal body shape
  •   Assess your vertical body shape
  •   Assess your face shape

It also helps you know what adjustments you need to make to make any outfit will work for you. This greatly breaks down the barrier between you and the classic "no-no"-s that you are supposed to avoid - so that you can wear almost anything you want!

2 . Your Coloring
The right colors make your skin glow and you'll look fresh and alert. The wrong colors, on the other hand can make you look pale (not in a good way for those you like the pale look!), tired and bring out discolorations and skin imperfections.
Determine your best colors
  •   How wearing your best and worst colors work
  •   The Color theory behind how a color affects your looks
  •   Assess your coloring with the Seasonal Color Analysis
  •   Know what neutrals and colors are safe

Another important aspect of colors is knowing how to use and coordinate colors to your advantage - such as bringing attention to your best assets as well as how to look taller. You can also use colors to create the mood of your outfit.

3. Develop Personal Style

Defining your personal style is a must to set yourself apart form the rest, as well as help you connect with your personality and create a trademark that people will remember you for. This results in a confident and comfortable gal behind the clothes :-)
Define your personal style
  • Understand why developing personal style is important
  • Take the fashion quiz
  • Further assessment of your personal fashion style
  • Define your style with your signature look and pieces
  • Be inspired

Each of these pointers is super-essential to looking your best - it takes fashion beyond the basics!

4. Wardrobe Audit

It's time to build the contents of your wardrobe! If you want to make it easier to put on clothes in the morning - you need to make sure you have the important essentials that build the foundation of your closet.
The first step is to dissect your closet :-)

How to organize your closet
  •  Understand how closet organizing works
  •  Learn the SMART method that helps you organize your closet effectively
  •  Secure the Wardrobe Essentials - from Essential Clothes to Essential Accessories Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter
  •  Know how to make the current fashion trends work for you

These are the building blocks to creating a solid wardrobe that keeps you covered on all occasions all-year-around.

5. Putting it Together

After having some of the basic fashion tips and assessed various aspects of your current style, from analyzing yourself from inside and out - it's time to put it all together!
This is where you swamp us much inspiration as possible and get your creative juices flowing. Playing it safe by relying on the basics won't get your image and style anywhere. Now it's the time for you to be creative and bold. Experiment with fashion, and not least have fun!
How to put together outfits
  •   Gather Fashion Inspiration to continue developing your personal style
  •   Wearing the current fashion trends
  •   Develop a closet plan and shopping strategies
  •   Create the outfits
  •   Grooming

After reviewing the steps from 1 to 4, you've probably have a propped notebook with notes on your current style and ideas on how and what to improve. Now, use the style and fashion tips to gather inspiration that suits your taste and handpick the trends that resonate with you. Sorry, this section is still under construction!

..Guide to Developing Your Own Unique Personal Style"

Let me begin by saying that finding your personal fashion style is about getting to know yourself. It's about being connected with the very essence of who YOU are - and be confident about it!

So WHAT exactly is the YOU and what does it have to do with fashion?

Imagine a world (call it "Sameville") where everybody wore the same clothes. A place where they had the same style and liked the same things.
Now that wouldn't exactly be the most colorful and stimulating world... would it?
But the sad reality is - the majority of people tend to go this route when it comes to clothes! So this is where developing your style comes into the picture.

Dare to be yourself and wear the clothes that express the unique and fabulous person you are!
Color this life with shapes, colors and styles - and be the shining example of the beauty of diversity :-)
Creating your own personal style is the art of combining an outfit, or an image if you will, based on the various aspects of your personality and lifestyle, which consists of: Your taste, interests, desires, inspirations, aspirations and history. You bring a couple (or all) of them together and let it shine in the way you dress. But of course, only the aspects you want to express and show to the world!

Why Is It Important to Develop a Personal Fashion Style?
Oh, the reasons are many but it's mainly to feel and look good! Creating your unique style helps you achieve a sense of confidence and comfort in how you put together an outfit. This sets you apart from the rest - the awkward-looking fashion victims you see out there on the street and in the cookie-cutter media.  It takes a lot of trial and error to find your personal clothing style, so don't worry about making mistakes along the way. In fact, developing your personal fashion style is a journey not a destination. Experimenting and just having fun help you get to know yourself better :-)

Style = Individuality

Once you connect with your core fashion persona, your style will improve and you'll look fabulous. This will radiate through the way you dress. You'll feel good and and attract the same admirations clothes-horses like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe are (still) getting!

"Wear something you feel gorgeous in and don't try too hard; it's much sexier when it appears effortless. Clothes that don't fit, or don't fit the wearer's personality, don't help."
- Heidi Klum (super model)

Their trick? Well, they knew that they didn't need to have a certain look to look good. Instead, they accentuated their individuality.

Let's Define Your Personal Style!
Together we're going to help you find and evolve your own personal fashion style.

We are going to:
  • Identify your true style/archetype (you may also discover a secondary and even a third clothing personality!)
  • Assess where you are compare to where you want to be based on your image goals
  • Work on bringing out your clothing personalities to create a signature style that is unique and completely you

So What Exactly Is A Clothing Personality?

It's your head-embedded tendency to instinctively choose a particular type of clothes. This natural tendency will 99.9% of the time match with your true inner self.

But why do we all keep making mistakes? That's because of the influences surrounding you (it could be a parent, a group of friends, social position, career path, media, etc.). This basically means that you're not quite 'in-tune' with your preferences or that you feel forced to confine to other people's standards and expectations.

"Is a Style Quiz Necessary?"

Not really, but it serves as a good starting point when you feel lost in your style.
For a lot of women, especially the Creative Fashionista, being put in a box doesn't sound enticing. But as a part of my image consultancy services and my wish to help women look their best, I would love to get you thinking about where you are in regards to where you want to be in your style journey.
I truly believe that this awareness of how you're currently projecting your image can guide you to improved style choices. And c'mon, let's relieve some of that seriousness - identifying your group of clothing personality is FUN !

"How and Where to Start?"

I suggest that you start with the "Fashion Style Quiz" to identify your clothing personality.

For more fashion advice on developing your personal fashion style and/or if the results from the quiz didn't give you the sense of direction you're looking for - click on "How to Find Your Style" and "How to Define Your Style". But of course, I encourage you to take the time to read through everything :-)
Well ladies, I hope this helps you become more aware of your fashion persona!

* womens fashion pants  *

You and I need a couple of great fitting womens fashion pants. Why?
  • Some workplaces don't allow denim jeans as a part of your outfit, of course!
  • What are you going to wear for a job or school interview to look decent and sophisticated?
  • You need more variation in your wardrobe

Pants are available in variety of styles - from shorter capris and pocket cargos to sleek womens dress pants, trendy high waist to funky wide leg cut. Slimmer styles such as skinnys are said to be the most popular choice among young women, but wide leg pants seem to grow with interest because of the 70s glam look fashion designers have been promoting on the catwalk.

Ruffled Blouse

A ruffled blouse (or any garment with ruffle details for that matter) brings a pretty and flirty touch to your outfit. Ruffle tops are a must if you have a Romantic personal style and for anyone who wants to create an illusion of curves around the bust or shoulder-line.
Ruffles are timeless and come in various top styles such as the ruffled neckline and also the one-shoulder sleeves. I think you'll also love the classic dress shirt blouse with ruffles along the button line, which are flattering for both small and large busts - they also distract the eye from a bloated tummy!
Let's take a closer look at some pointers on how to look fab and chic in a ruffled blouse!

How to Look Good in a Ruffled Blouse

Pair it with a tailored clothing

For a maximum chic style impact, pair your ruffle blouse with a simple and tailored garment such as a blazer jacket, a pair of dress pants and a sleek tote bag. It helps balance out the frilly-nilly look of the top. We want to look pretty but classy, right? Here are other outfit ideas:
  • If you want to look casual-chic
  • .. turn up the cool-factor with basic dark blue denim jeans - Kim Kardashian (right image) does it right with a pair of tailored denim trousers. However I would personally add a whiff of color with a handbag in tan or red.
  • If your style is trendy
  • .. try a combination of brown-and-beige leopard short pencil skirt with a black ruffle shirt. Grrrr.

Ruffles on the right places

This is super-important to get the look right. You need ruffles that add volume on all the right places, which are:
  • Shoulders
  • Bust-area

Details above the bust draw the eye up to your face and shoulders which make you appear taller. In general, ruffles around the stomach or waist are visually fattening and can take inches off your height. However, it also depends on the volume and shape of the ruffle: Compared to the very-frilly and pom pom-like ruffle that only add curves in a unflattering way, simple and waterfall'ish ruffle details are much more flattering. They should also long vertically to help draw the eye up and down, which in turn helps camouflage tummy bumps and lumps.
Ruffles (or details in general) are a great way to balance out wide hips and draw attention away from your lower body. If you have a small chest, they'll help fill them out. On the other hand, if your chest is large make sure to look for the flattering ruffles (long and waterfall'ish).

How to wear ruffle blouse for work

If you should ditch the ruffles or not depends on the dress code at the office.
Most casual work environments allow you to experiment with colors and outfit combinations, but you still need to keep it professional. Think solid-colored tops with simple ruffles paired with trousers or jeans and flats.
If the dress code is strict, opt for ruffle tops in your best neutrals such as black, white, blues, light pinks and browns. And pair it off with a tailored garment.
It looks pretty sleek with a black or denim pencil skirt or dress pants.

Fashion tops are some of the womens clothing that can completely change the look and feel of a pair of jeans, dress pants or a skirt. They can create a fashion statement when worn alone with a bottom, or add visual interest when layered with a cardigan or pullover sweater.
Your body shape and even face shape come into play when buying tops.
So it's a matter of getting to know your personal style (body figure, face shape, colors and the whole nine yards). Some top styles look better on others, and some necklines (I really want to burn those crew necks!) flatter other women's top half better than yours. Other factors that are worth considering when you're buying fashion tops are: neckline, length and hem shape, sleeve shape and more.

In this Shopping & Style Guide to Womens Tops you'll discover fashion advice, tips, ideas and inspiration on:
